I just tried Stream Direct over a recent weekend and after about an hour asked for my money back. What’s wrong?

    1) The desktop interface is poor. With any search, one can only see
several channels at once, even though there may be well over a hundred
    in the list;

    2) Most of the channels I tried from the desktop interface that I knew
were currently on came up “Ready,” i.e., nothing showing. OTOH, many
of the ones found via the member area worked.

    3) The Easy HDTV DVR software is, as far as I can tell, a hoax. Yes,
you get the software, but not the keycode for going past the 30-day
trial. And if you go to the software company’s site,
EnigmaIndustries.com, and look at the FAQ, they talk about sites like
Stream Direct that mislead customers into thinking that the software allows recording of streaming video. According to Enigma, the software keycode has to be purchased individually from them and, in any event, the program is *not* for Internet TV, which instead requires a “hardware TV tuner installed in it that is connected to an antenna or cable outlet.” (this is also apparent from the program’s set up choices)

    4) When I asked in advance of purchasing about a couple of countries in particular that I didn’t see listed, the reply from customer service was the standard advertising pitch, nothing specific to what I had asked.

I will give them and Click Bank credit for one thing. They do process refunds with due speed, one business day in my case.

Hi Roger. I just ordered the Stream Direct as well and I hate it. It is truly awful and does not work. I emailed the customer service link too requesting a refund but got a standard pitch like you said. Where did you go to get your refund? I definitely want my money back asap.

Thanks for reviewing the product. I was looking to catch a show that my satellite provider stopped carrying. “Sunny in Philly” on FX. It appears Dish and Fox i.e. Directv connection want a 50% fee increase for Fox cable channels on Dish. Due to this I was looking to watch some shows on Hulu or FX online. No luck for tonights episodes. I stumbled upon marketing for Stream Direct. At first it was intriguing; but as I read more and tried to find contact info it appeared slightly bogus. I then looked for reviews and found poor marketing in the form of “Scam Reviews” The deeper I looked the stranger it got. I eventually found this site with some independent, non-advertising reviews. Thanks for keeping it real.

With this software, can you receive pay channels like HBO, Cinemax, etc?

Can you receive live, out-of-market sporting event such as NCAA, NFL,NBA, etc?

I don’t understand the BS about this being a scam. It is great for me. I paid $45 for a lifetime membership. In 4 weeks I have received the following telecasts on my PC:

3 New England Patriot games (free) not televised in my area (Texas). I refuse to pay the $320 for NFL Sunday Ticket.

The Pacquio/Margarito fight, including the undercard (free).

Last night I watched the pay for view WWE Survivor Series (free). I am not a wrestling fan but watched a few of the championship matches.

I keep reading about all of the “free” TV that is available for your PC. However when I checked all that I could find (approx. 8-10), none of them would give me these pay for view fights or NFL games.

This weekend, when I purchase a laptop, I’m hooking it to my Samsung TV and will watch all of this “free” stuff on my 67 inch TV.

I was looking at purchasing this stream direct till i watched there website said you get all this for a one time fee. Then the next thing i saw when going to check out was monthly fees or yearly fees. Then i looked down at the bottom an saw the address.
(10 Solutions LTD. P.O. Box 642, Charlestown, Nevis, West Indies )
not only is it not in my country it is a P.O box number one sign of a scam.
So then i search the product an found theses reviews. So thanks to all this they will never see any of my Money

  12. Faked Reviews January 20, 2011 at 8:13 pm #

Worst of all is all the Fake “Independent review” websites that these guys put up and most the big search engines taking cash to push those fake reviews to the top of search for reviews and malware report.

If the con-men at streamdirect.com weren’t so bad at writing realistic sounding reviews I might have been lured in too. Instead most people quickly suspect the review is fake because of all the gushing shopping channel language “amazing” “revolutionary” Etc. That and the fact all comments have the same gushing language praising either the review site or streamdirect product. Not one qualified “good product if your internet conenction is up to speed” type comment let alone a hint of criticism.

scam!!!the channels dont work!!!i want tmy money back

  14. Buonaparte April 17, 2011 at 12:49 am #

Upon reading these reviews, I did see one that was apparently submitted by a Streamdirect Rep. Upon reading that particular review, the person states that any and all those particular stations are free anyway; you would only have to search for them. Apparently, according to this person’s comment on the service, Streamdirect supposedly takes the “Hassle” out of you having to do the search yourself. I’m quite sure if you know what you’re looking for, all you have to do is Google it.

I was ready to get my credit card out to purchase this product but wanted to find some independent reviews before I ordered. This site was extremely helpful. I’ve come to the conclusion this is a scam. I put my credit card up and decided not to purchase this item.

all the cheap stuff is a scam, scam, scam, scam, scam, scam, scam, scam and they are getting richer and richer.

  18. don August 6, 2011 at 7:13 pm #

I have stream direct, got it Oct 2010 and paid $49 for 3 years (very cheap) i have to say I’ve never been happy with the TV lineup. they have a lot of channels but most i can never watch. but, for me it’s still a good deal mainly because i can watch all the major sporting events HBO and pay-per-view. last year i was able to watch every NFL and NBA game that i wanted to including fantasy football live. even when i had cable i could only watch the NFL games in my region. so for me, to pay a one time fee of $49 for 3 years service and watch all the major sporting events, it was worth it even if i can’t watch all the movies and TV programs that they offered. now, I pay for the internet 29.99 +/Tax, my girl pays $8 a month for netflix between that and the free stuff we watch on hulu, letmewatchthis.com and a couple of other really good free sites (that i wont share) we are really enjoying our tv experience we watch everything we want for less than $45 a month. the biggest expense here is the cost of internet. not sure if stream is a scam or not i paid with a prepaid card on a dummy email account with no personal info.
